Daily, we move through a world that was not built for us. for our bodies.
Our society, our workplaces, have been built by and for the bodies of cisgender men.
We must accept this.
As one pro-choice man put it in 2004, pregnancy is “certainly an inconvenience for a business.” (The man’s name, of course, was Donald Trump.)
Our bodies are an inconvenience for business; we are an inconvenience for business.
Our children do not serve Capital; they are an inconvenience.
Life is inconvenient.
As a result, we need abortion?
Because the cis-male body has been accepted as normative, pregnancy has become a disease condition -- something to be cured.
Why do we need to kill to be successful?
Patriarchy oppresses. Capitalism oppresses.
So the feminist response is to continue this cycle of violence?
Instead of tearing down these violent systems -- to be free, we need to become the oppressors?
No, I scream. Join me in screaming, NO.
We cannot allow abortion to be just another form of patriarchal violence.
I don’t want abortion. I don’t want “success.”
I want liberation.
